James Rodriguez Could End Up At Paris Saint-Germain
Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez has decided to wait on the fate of Manchester United in the Europa League final before finalizing his choice between the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Colombian international is said to be uninterested in a move to Old Trafford unless Manchester United qualify for next season’s Champions League. According to Spanish weekly Don Balon, James Rodriguez is now having second thoughts on his move to the English club, with an offer from PSG on the table.
Although Paris Saint-Germain were beaten to Ligue 1 title by rivals Monaco, they still have their place in Champions League sealed – which could prove to be decisive in their pursuit of the wantaway Real Madrid player. PSG boss Unai Emery is very keen to strengthen his squad to fulfill the ambitions of oil-rich owners, who don’t blink before sacking managers.
James wants to play at the highest level of club competition, and has demanded Champions League football from Manchester United.
The Colombian superstar is patiently waiting for Wednesday, when Jose Mourinho’s side face Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm. Anything less than the Europa League title for United will put their pursuit of summer transfer targets in jeopardy, including Rodriguez.
The playmaker has been on fringes at Real Madrid, as Isco, Asensio, Bale and Vasquez have been given preference by Zinedine Zidane.
The newly crowned champions of La Liga are ready to let James go, but only with a big check in offer. The Colombian costed a fortune to Real Madrid when they signed him for €80 million in the summer after World Cup 2014 – a competition James took by storm.
