Assou-Ekotto Might Choose Pornography Over Birmingham

Benoit Assou-Ekotto is contemplating a move into pornography, Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed. The manager was looking to sign Assou-Ekotto, but the Cameroonian might be switching careers.

The left-back was playing at Metz before his contract expired, and he has since been linked with a reunion with Harry Redknapp, with whom he worked at Tottenham. The veteran boss himself has suggested the deal may not happen, according to the Birmingham Mail.

“The only trouble is that he’s admitted he wants to be a Pornstar. Maybe I can get another year out of him before he decides to do that. What a good player. He could well end up in the Birmingham colours next year, Benoit,” Birmingham Mail reported him as saying.

The 33-year-old started his career at Lens, before playing at Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers, Saint-Étienne, and Metz. Despite being born in France, he played international football for Cameroon, and represented them in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

Assou-Ekotto made 19 appearances for Metz in all competitions this season, although he missed a number of matches through suspension after being sent off twice.

The defender was always known for his forthrightness. He also infamously said that playing football was’ just a job’. It is surprising nonetheless, that he would be willing to make such a huge career jump.
