Jose Mourinho Could Spend More Than £300m On Four Summer Targets
According to the reports in the Daily Mail, Manchester United are reportedly set to spend £300m in the summer transfer window after their place in next season’s Champions League was confirmed, following their Europa League triumph on Wednesday night.
The report claims that Antoine Griezmann, Andrea Belotti, Romelu Lukaku, and Michael Keane are all the club’s top targets, with Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his squad that can dominate the Premier League and Europe for years to come.
After Wednesday night’s Europa League win, Mourinho departed for a holiday with a clear message, which stated that it was now the turn of the Manchester United CEO to try and bring him the new players he wants.
“Ed Woodward has my list. Now it’s up to him and the owners,” the Portuguese manager said after his side beat Ajax to win the Europa League for the first time on Wednesday.

Amongst the four players, there is no denying that the former Chelsea manager wants the Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann to be his stellar signing.
The Frenchman has been a long-term target for Manchester United, with odds on the transfer improving significantly after United’s Europa League win.
A number of reports even suggest that Griezmann has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, but the striker has seemingly rejected reports, saying that he is yet to make a final decision on his future
If Griezmann’s move falters, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Torino’s Andrea Belotti are another attacking options for United.
Belotti is one of the most sought after attackers in Europe, after starring for Torino and scoring 28 goals for the club, while Lukaku has just finished another impressive season for Everton, scoring 25 goals in 36 appearances in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Burnley defender Michael Keane is another player who has been strongly linked with the English giants, and the 25-year-old has reportedly told his friends that Old Trafford is his most likely destination.
United spent £150m in Mourinho’s first transfer window, and they could spend double of that amount in his second if the top targets can be attracted to the club.
There is no denying that the numbers are quite high, and one senior club source said the forthcoming transfer window was likely to be ‘crazy’ given the increased spending power within the Premier League, and as a result of the new £8.3bn tv deal.
United’s Chief Executive Ed Woodward is surely going to face a busy summer in trying to deliver all of Mourinho’s targets.
