Top Transfer Rumours Of The Day: James Rodriguez, Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa, And More

1. James Rodriguez To Inter Milan

What’s the story?

Amidst rumours of Rodriguez getting ready to pack his bags and head away from the Bernabeu in the summer, AS have reported that Serie A side Inter Milan are interested in the Colombian midfielder, and have tabled a bid worthy of €42 million in an attempt to purchase his services from next season onwards.

Should the deal take place?

As Zidane seems ready to invest in the sale of James in the window, the playmaker might be hoping to arrive at a club which not only offers European competition, but ample game time as well. Inter have been struggling to produce high quality football and with the bid being much lower than the price expected, heading there might not be the best choice to make for a player looking to revive his career.

Possibility of it happening

The deal seems like a tough nut to crack for the Serie A side, and hence, the chances of it happening are no greater than that of 5/10.

2. Antoine Griezmann To Stay At Atletico Madrid

What’s the story?

As per an interview held by Telecinco (via the Sun), the French striker is all set to remain at the La Liga club after the summer window, according to Atletico president Enrique Cerezo.

Should the deal take place?

The forward has been in prime form over the past two years, and after losing out on major trophies and personal achievements, he might be eyeing a switch to a club which has an experience of bringing in silverware.

Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side are currently after Griezmann for a price ranging in the category of £87 million, and with the English fans waiting for the Frenchman to become their number one goal getter, a transfer might make perfect sense.

Possibility of it happening

On one side, last year’s Euro 2016 golden boot winner placed a 6/10 chance on him moving to Old Trafford, and on the other, Cerezo claimed that Griezmann “will be at the Wanda Metropolitano”, hence leaving the negotiation at a 5/10 standstill which can head in either direction.

3. Ross Barkley To West Ham United

What’s the story?

As mentioned by the Daily Star, West Ham United are ready to meet Barkley’s wage demands of £140k-a-week and beat Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the young and talented midfielder.

Should the deal take place?

As Ronald Koeman prepares for moves to bring Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney to Goodison Park in the summer, it could mean curtains for Barkley’s time at the club, and despite the excessive transfer fee demanded, either London club could be chasing the Englishman and his impressive abilities.

With Pablo Zabaleta already signing for Slaven Bilic, who is ready to make an impression with big name summer signings, a move to a side with a bigger stadium and European ambitions seems like a fair deal for a player gunning to make it big.

Possibility of it happening

This negotiation has a good possibility of 7/10 of coming to life.

4. Alexis Sanchez Could Stay At Arsenal

What’s the story?

After FA Cup glory, Arsenal are desperate to keep their talisman Alexis Sanchez at the club over the summer, as they prepare to raise his weekly wage to £270,000, and as a result, keep him away from the slowly approaching grasp of German club Bayern Munich, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Should the deal take place?

The Chilean seems eager to head to a club that wins titles and has a reputation matching up to the performances he delivers, and although winning the FA Cup might be a step in convincing him to stay, heading to Bayern Munich might be a decision that will propel his career to where it deserves to be.

Possibility of it happening

The London outfit seem to be unsure of everything to follow in the upcoming season, and hence, stopping a superstar from going to a bigger club might be a task almost next to impossible, and hence, the odds of him staying are in the region of 4/10.

5. Diego Costa To Atletico Madrid

What’s the story?

As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea ace Diego Costa is ready to stay in London despite rumours linking him to Chelsea, and will only say goodbye to Stamford Bridge if Atletico Madrid become his next destination.

Should the deal take place?

The Spanish international was influential in Conte’s title winning campaign, but his antics on and off the pitch have seen the fans divided into two sides – one that want him to stay, and the other that want to see the back of him.

Chelsea are now preparing for next term’s UEFA Champions League campaign, and staying and helping them reach the latter stages should be an aim the striker should put his efforts into accomplishing.

Possibility of it happening

The player is in a dilemma which he will need time to find a way out of, hence keeping the fans guessing, and the chances of it happening at 5/10.
