Inter Laugh Off Liverpool’s Offer For Ivan Perisic
Ivan Perisic is said to be very close to signing for Manchester United, reportedly having ‘one foot’ at Old Trafford already. Liverpool are also said to have bid for the winger – an offer which Inter ‘laughed off’.
United have been heavily linked to Perisic, with him being projected as a very Jose Mourinho-type player. The English giants’ interest was confirmed by Inter’s sporting director, though he stopped short of receiving any offers.
The Red Devils reportedly value the 28-year old at €45m, but the Serie A club seems to be holding out for €55-60m, with Paris Saint-Germain also interested, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness). The newspaper also wrote about Perisic’s apparent goodbye to Inter fans at the end of the team’s 5-2 victory over Udinese on Sunday.

Chelsea were also previously linked with the Croatian, but latest reports say the Blues are no longer involved.

Liverpool, though, are the newest entrants to the interested-in-Perisic list, according to 24Sata (via Sport Witness). Jurgen Klopp was reportedly impressed by the former Club Brugge man during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, and despite the duo not parting on the best of terms, their relationship is believed to have mended quickly.
The Merseyside club did submit a €35m offer for the wide man, but it was ‘laughed off’ by the Inter management, not only due to the low price, but also because of their confidence of bagging a more pricey deal with United.
Perisic’s height, age, and his style of wing play is very much preferred by Mourinho, as the Portuguese likes wingers around the age of 26-28 years, who are more prepared to defend, and minimise the risk factor. The Croatian fits perfectly into that criteria, with Old Trafford management ready to back their gaffer with money.
