Top Transfer Rumours Of The Day: Jean Seri, Victor Lindelof, David De Gea, And More

1. Jean Seri To Barcelona

What’s the story?

As mentioned in the reports in Spanish paper Mundo DeportivoBarcelona could be on their way to sign Ligue 1 midfielder Jean Seri and snatch him away from other interested clubs, namely PSG and Tottenham Hotspur, in the upcoming transfer window.

Should the deal take place?

After scoring seven goals and securing nine assists in a highly influential season for Nice, Seri seems like a fit in Barcelona’s squad, and also possesses the passing abilities of Xavi, a gap in Camp Nou’s central midfield still waiting to be completely filled.

With Iniesta most probably saying goodbye to the Catalan club, this might be the perfect chance for the 25-year-old midfielder to step up to the plate on the biggest stage of them all.

Possibility of it happening

With his best years ahead of him, no major price tag, and the player himself being a huge fan of the Spanish giants, a strong 8/10 chance exists in favour of this deal taking place.

 2. Ederson To Manchester City

What’s the story?

As confirmed by Benfica, Manchester City signed goalkeeper Ederson earlier in the day for a fee of £34.9 million, as they look to overturn a trophyless season and win the silverware Pep was appointed to bring.

Should the deal have taken place?

The Brazilian arrives to England after two successful seasons in the Portuguese League and an impressive 18 clean sheets to his name in his last season there.

Pep was facing disastrous goalkeeping crisis, as Willy Caballero and Claudio Bravo both failed to impress the manager and the fans throughout the season, and Joe Hart was out all season on loan. With age, agility, strength, and solid shot stopping potential in his favour and part of his skilful locker, Ederson might just be the answer to all of City’s problems in between the sticks.

3. Victor Lindelof and Nelson Semedo To Manchester United

What’s the story?

According to Portuguese daily O Jogo, Jose Mourinho might be close to bringing in a defensive duo over the summer, as Benfica President, Luis Filipe Vieira, reportedly travelled to England to discuss the transfers of Victor Lindelof and Nelsen Semedo to Old Trafford.

Should the deal take place?

The Red Devils are back in the Champions League next season and will be looking to strengthen a defense that was struck by injury and fatigue through last campaign’s course, and after having tracked the two since a while, bringing players who have an already established chemistry might be a very wise decision.

Possibility of it happening

With rivals Manchester City beginning their spending spree already, Jose Mourinho will not stay behind for far too long, and after having scouted the pair for a decent time, a deal might just be around the corner. A strong 8/10 chance stands in favour for the negotiations to be successful.

 4. David De Gea Bid From Real Madrid Rejected

What’s the story?

The summer transfer window marks the beginning of an old love story between Real Madrid and their De Gea pursuit, and after the Spanish club took the first step in launching a £60 million bid for the keeper, Sky Sports reported that it was turned down by Manchester United chiefs, who seem in the mood to upset Zidane’s team yet again.

Should the deal take place?

Real Madrid might be the biggest club in the world, but the Red Devils are fresh from a treble achieving season, and are back in the Champions League under Jose Mourinho as he looks to turn them into a title winning side yet again. These are exciting times for the English club, and in order to regain their prime status, keeping hold of their 3-time Player of the Year is absolutely crucial, and with him being a fan favourite and undisputed number one choice, staying at Old Trafford might turn out to be a choice the Spaniard will not regret.

Possibility of it happening

As seen earlier, Real Madrid will not be convinced by a one time rejection, and will be back with bigger and better offers, but Mourinho and other deciding authorities at Manchester United seem ready for a fight. Hence, the possibility of the player leaving hangs in the balance at 5/10.
