Real Madrid have rejected Manchester United’s bid worth £52.4m for striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

The former Juventus man has not been able to establish himself in the first team since his move back to the Bernabeu, and has fallen down the pecking order under current coach Zinedine Zidane.

The Spaniard has yet been productive, scoring 20 goals in all competitions for the La Liga giants, but with Zidane planning to make further additions to his squad, the forward is now ready to quit the club.

Manchester United are one of the several clubs looking to secure the young striker’s services, and reports from Sky Sports Italia claim that the Reds have made a bid worth £52.4m for the player, which has been rejected by Real Madrid.

The report also reveals that this bid did not involve David De Gea – the shot stopper that Real Madrid are desperate for.

Furthermore, Sky sources claim that the reigning Spanish Champions will demand a staggering £78m for Morata’s services, and are adamant to not let him leave for anything less.

However, the Red Devils do not seem too interested in paying that price for the 24-year-old, and have already started looking at alternatives, with Torino striker Andrea Belotti rumoured to be one of them.
