Michael Keane Pulls Out Of Old Trafford Return Talks
As per the reports in Times, Michael Keane has changed his mind over rejoining Manchester United once he learnt Jose Mourinho wanted to sign two centre-backs.
Keane was a part of United’s youth set-up, but managed only one senior appearance for the Red Devils before being sold to Burnley in 2015 for a fee of £2.5m. Ever since sealing a move to the Lancashire club, Keane has established himself as one of the key players, and has enjoyed an impressive 2016-17 season.
The Englishman’s performance drew attention from Premier League’s top clubs, mainly, Manchester United, who are reportedly keen to bring the 24-year-old back to Old Trafford this summer. A recent report also suggested that significant progress has been made over a transfer after the defender held initial talks with United officials.
However, the reports in Times claim that Keane rejected the chance to return to his former club, after knowing that Mourinho is looking to sign two centre-backs.
The Premier League giants have already signed Victor Lindelof in a deal worth up to €39.6m, with the Swedish defender signing a four-year deal with an option of a further year, and completing a medical at Carrington.
Mourinho has got six central defenders at the club currently, and despite Chris Smalling being linked with a move to Everton, it is unlikely that Keane will be given a chance in the Starting XI.
There is no denying that the talented centre-back is looking for more regular football at the moment, in order to secure a place in England’s World Cup squad next year.
Despite rejecting a chance to return to Old Trafford, Keane shouldn’t be short of offers, as Everton and Liverpool are also being linked with the youngster. The Toffees are said to be the huge favourites to sign the defender in a deal worth £25m.

How could Keane of been in talks when no offer has been agreed between the clubs ?
If this story is true then why would he be interested in signing for Everton as they to are trying to sign two centre backs ?
