Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months. The versatile Benfica youngster is set to add more depth to the quartet of midfielders in United’s ranks.

Talisca is said to have impressed United manager Jose Mourinho, who is eager to add more firepower in the attacking third.

Anderson scored 16 goals in 31 appearances during a loan spell at Turkish club Besiktas last season. His contribution was a pivotal factor, as it helped the Turkish outfit seal the league title.

According to Turkish newspaper AMK (via talkSPORT), Talisca has agreed terms with the Europa League winners ahead of a permanent move away from Benfica.

United are yet to agree on a fee for the midfielder with Benfica, as the Portuguese giants are said to be unwilling to let Talisca leave easily this summer. The Europa League winners are expected to pay at least £22m for the Brazilian.

United have already signed another Benfica player in the form of Victor Lindelof for £30.75m this month. The Swedish centre-back will provide a lot of challenge for the position, given United’s array of defenders.

Jose Mourinho is also keen to get forward Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. The former Chelsea manager wants his team to be serious contenders for the league title this season, and with the club participating in the UEFA Champions League, he will be keen to get the signings done before the summer tour of the United States.
