Marco Verratti  has informed PSG that he will not report back to Parc Des Princes for the pre-season, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian midfielder has his mind made up to leave PSG, as he sets out to join Barcelona in the summer. The midfielder has lost confidence in his current team, and feels that he won’t be able to win major trophies with the club. Paris Saint-Germain endured a tough season, as they failed to live up to expectations in Ligue 1 and Europe.

Much like PSG, Barcelona also underwent a disappointing season, as Real Madrid set alarm of a power shift in Spain and Europe.

However, massive changes are already in order at Camp Nou to bounce straight back to their high standards. As a part of the rebuilding, the 24-year-old midfielder, who has been a constant fixture on Barcelona’s radar for many years now, finally looks set to join The Cules.

Despite Barcelona and Verratti both wanting a transfer to be finalized soon, PSG won’t look to make that any easier. Having built the whole team around their golden boy, the French giants are expected to reject any bids accounting less than €100m in valuation.

Barcelona are very keen to bring the innovation and flair of Verratti in their midfield, which has looked somewhat dull year after year since the departure of Xavi.  The Italian will need to hit the ground running to meet the high expectations that will precede him to the Camp Nou.

Many believe that big money signing Andre Gomes, who has failed to make an impact, will make way in the summer to accommodate the incoming Verratti.
