Monaco’s Tiemoué Bakayoko has moved even closer to his transfer to Chelsea, and a medical is expected to be completed next week.

Bakayoko is expected to be the latest Monaco player to move away from the French club, as a transfer fee of €40m has now reportedly been agreed with the Premier League winners. The French midfielder has been in advanced talks with Chelsea for quite some time now.

Despite having an exceptional season with Monaco, Bakayoko is set to follow his teammate Bernardo Silva to the Premier League.

According to L’EquipeManchester United were also interested in the services of the 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder, but he has chosen to work with Conte over Jose Mourinho – just what Kante did last year, when he ignore the Red Devils boss’ phone call to join Chelsea.

It is believed that Bakayoko’s signing will be revealed on 1st July, when Chelsea will be conducting their kit launch program for 2017/18 season. The Premier League winners will be donning Nike jerseys in the new season, as their deal with Adidas expires.

Along with the signing of Bakayoko, Willy Caballero is also expected to be revealed as a Chelsea player, having signed as a free agent after he was released from Manchester City.

With the new season inching closer, Chelsea are eager to add a few more players before setting out to defend the title. Southampton’s Van Dijk, along with Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro are also among the primary transfer targets for Antonio Conte.
