Manchester United Have Not Agreed Terms With Nemanja Matic, Claim Reports
Premier League giants Manchester United have not agreed any deal with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to Daily Mail‘s Mike Keegan.
This news comes after reports earlier stated that the defensive midfielder is keen to play under Jose Mourinho once again, after featuring for him earlier at Chelsea. Matic, who made 40 appearances for the Blues under Antonio Conte last season, is said to be a huge admirer of Mourinho and his style of play.
But United already have four midfielders in their ranks, and are plotting a £44m move for Monaco’s 23-year-old Fabinho as well.
Recent reports claim that United seem to have switched their interest, and if Fabinho arrives, then the Matic deal will be off the table completely.
If United fail in their chase of the Brazilian, though, the Chelsea stalwart could then see a £20 million reunion with his former boss materialise.
Matic helped Chelsea win the Premier League honours last season – their 2nd title in the past 3 years. However, his future is now insecure, as the Italian boss is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements to add to the side that already boasts star players like N’Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas.
