Mourinho Wants Harry Kane Instead Of Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has urged the board members to make a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane instead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reports claimed that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t happy at Madrid after being accused of evading £13m at tax by Spanish prosecutors.
The news has been dominating the headlines, with some sources even saying Ronaldo’s former club Manchester United were making constant efforts to bring him back to Old Trafford in a mammoth deal worth nearly £160m.
Despite the news still trending on the social media, reports in the Daily Mirror state that United manager Jose Mourinho has told Ed Woodward to ignore Ronaldo and make a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy has already made it clear that none of the players will be joining a rival club, however, the report goes on to say that the former Chelsea manager has urged the board to submit a world record bid, which they would struggle to reject.
The Red Devils have already been linked with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, and the deal will reportedly be wrapped up by next week. In addition to the talented Spaniard, Mourinho wants to sign Kane to add more firepower and to bring the glory days back at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old enjoyed another magnificent season for the North London club, scoring 29 Premier League goals, which helped him win the coveted Golden Boot for the second successive season.
The Englishman only signed a new contract in December, therefore, United should come up with a world record fee in excess of £100m to convince Tottenham and seal the headline signing.
The Premier League giants have already been exploring the possibility of signing Eric Dier, and it’s interesting to see whether they could lure two of Pochettino’s important players at the club.
