Deal Agreed: United Agree Terms With Both Chelsea And Matic
Manchester United hope to complete the Nemanja Matic deal officially before the end of the week, The Guardian understands.
Jose Mourinho, who was the main man behind bringing Nemanja Matic back at the Stamford Bridge from Benfica in 2014, wants to reunite with the midfielder once again at Old Trafford.
Matic, who is a two-time Premier League winner in the past three seasons with Chelsea in his second spell, is seen as the perfect replacement by the Portuguese tactician for the ageing Michael Carrick.
The Serbian is expected to come in for a medical in the coming days, after agreeing on a £155,000-a-week contract with the Red side of Manchester.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to bring 22-year-old Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco, after agreeing to sell the 28-year-old for a fee close to £40 million.
The signing will not please majority of Manchester United fans, who wanted to see Bakayoko’s Monaco teammate Fabinho in midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera.
However, considering Jose Mourinho’s excellent record in the transfer market, it will only be fair to give Matic time to settle, and Mourinho the benefit of the doubt!
