Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea’s name is once again doing the rounds in the transfer market, as reports claim that the Spaniard is keen to move to Real Madrid. The Spanish No. 1 has been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish capital in recent months, with Zinedine Zidane eager to get his signature.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had claimed earlier that he is keen to hold the Spaniard, and that he is blessed to have him and Argentina No. 1 Sergio Romero as his two goalkeeping choices.

De Gea excelled for the Red Devils once again last season, and saw himself winning three trophies. However, Spanish journalist Pipi Estrada made the claims on the El Chiringuito TV show that De Gea is willing to seal a move to his homeland, as his agent Jorge Mendes has been in contact with Madrid chief Jose Angel Sanchez in recent days at the 26-year-old’s request.

Further reports claim that talks between the two clubs have stalled, with United thought to be reluctant to sell, and Madrid yet to meet their asking price.

Also, Real’s No. 1 Keylor Navas has been in superb form, having helped the side to two consecutive Champions League honours, and the 3rd in 4 years. He is said to be happy at Real, although certain reports claim that he is considering his future, and Paris Saint-Germain is keeping an eye on him.

Back in 2015, De Gea almost made a switch to Real, but the transfer could not get completed with missing paperwork being the reason as the deadline ended. The shot-stopper ended up extending his contract with United, which lasts until 2019.
