Cristiano Ronaldo Decides To Remain At Real Madrid
When Cristiano Ronaldo decided that he did not want to stay at Real Madrid any longer, world football was hit by a jolt of palpable lightning. But now, the 32-year-old has decided to take a sharp turn and decide to stay with the club for at least a few more years.
Last month, reports of tax frauds plagued Cristiano Ronaldo, as he was accused of a €14.7 million tax evasion charge by a public prosecutor. The four-time Ballon d’Or winner was considerably angered, as he felt the treatment he received in Spain was uncalled for.
The Portuguese captain then went on to decide that he did not want to stay in the Spanish Capital anymore. These reports caused tremors all across Europe, as several clubs, including Man Utd, Paris Saint-Germain, and Monaco, among others, began preparing for a move.
Five days later, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez issued a statement siding with their star player, assuring that they did not believe Cristiano did anything wrong. He stated: “We are confident in him as a person and as a professional.”
And now, according to new reports from AS, Ronaldo has decided to continue playing at the Bernabeu, and has finalized his decision. This has been conveyed to the Real Madrid management as well, who are now including him in their plans for the upcoming season.
The Portuguese captain is set to testify in the Spanish court on the 31st of July, but despite the allegations, it is expected that he would come out unscathed, and should not impede his future for Los Blancos.
