Chelsea To Wrap Up The Signing Of Real Madrid Star Soon
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid defender Danilo, reports Calcio Mercato.
The Brazilian has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and the London club is expected to agree on a fee with the La Liga giants for the 26-year-old soon.
Blues’ boss Antonio Conte had one of the best defensive units in the previous campaign, and he is keen on not just maintaining it, but also reinforcing it. The Italian has seen potential in Los Blancos’ full-back, and has decided to add him to his ranks of elite defenders.
On the other hand, the Brazil international has been a backup at the Santiago Bernabeu, and has been looking for offers that presented more first-team action. Moreover, Danilo would be delighted with a move to Stamford Bridge, as the World Cup is around the corner, and regular football could spell his name on Brazil’s team sheet.
Meanwhile, Conte’s intent of creating a defensively unbeatable team is becoming more evident with each signing. He has already secured the services of Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma and Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco – players who have impressed immensely last season.
With Danilo’s addition to the West London side, Chelsea look impenetrable, with Rudiger alongside him, and Bakayoko guarding the backline.
Though Conte’s side had a slow start to the transfer window, they have been slowly gathering pace and making top-quality signings. Though little is so far reported, tabs will be kept on further news about the deal between the Spanish and English champions, and news of the contract offer and fee agreement will follow soon.
