‘Italian League Perfect For Me,’ Says Juve’s New Signing Douglas Costa
Former Bayern Munich star player Douglas Costa has revealed that the Serie A is perfect for him, after making a switch to Italian Champions Juventus.
The versatile attacking forward has moved to Turin from the German Champions, who replaced him with Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez.
“What I like and don’t like about Serie A? It’s a strong league, perfect even,” said Costa at his unveiling in Italy.
The winger has joined the Old Lady on a season-long loan for an initial fee of £5.3m, but can join them permanently for £35.4m next summer. That will be the priority for Costa, who is expected to live up to his standards and help the club achieve more glory.
Prior to joining Juventus, Costa had been heavily linked with a Premier League move.
But having officially joined Juve, Costa has now stated that he expects to fit in the side very soon, and hopes to adapt.
“I’m very quick and I hope to fit in quickly. I don’t like physical contact very much, but I’ll adapt,” said the player.
“It’ll take a while for me to develop an affinity with everyone and the environment here, but I’ve already been given some advice and I hope to come in handy right away.”
