Jose Mourinho has stressed upon the fact that his squad still needs two new faces to be ready for next season. The Portuguese coach is said to be looking for a midfielder and a right-back to add to his current options.

Despite offering Carrick an extension, the Manchester United boss is keen to add another midfielder, and the Special One has now identified Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti as a potential candidate for the job.

The Italy international recently hired Mino Raiola as his new representative, and the super-agent is known to have strong ties with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United. In fact, as per Tuttosport (via Sky Sports), Mourinho has approached his favorite agent to try to persuade Verratti into joining the Red Devils.

Raiola is known to be a powerful negotiator, who earns himself and his clients massive profits in transfer deals. The super agent has already bagged fortunes in the transfers of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

If a transfer goes through, Verratti will be another mega money signing at Old Trafford, as Paris Saint-Germain have clearly indicated that they won’t let their midfield magician leave for anything less than £80 million.

The Italian has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, but the Catalan giants are not willing to match PSG’s steep valuation of the player.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho will try his best to land the 24-year-old, after having missed out on targets like Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier. The tactician is very keen to push through transfers before the season begins on 13th August, when the Reds host West Ham at home in their opening Premier League fixture.
