Carlo Ancelotti Provides An Update On Renato Sanches And Arturo Vidal’s Futures
Renato Sanches could depart Bayern Munich this summer, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed.
The teenager signed for the German champions following an impressive display during the Euro 2016 for Portugal. However, Sanches managed to make only 6 Bundesliga starts since the switch, and struggled to establish a permanent place in the starting lineup for the German side last season.
The Portuguese international has seemingly not lived up to the standards the Italian manager expected from him, and he now looks as if he’s on the move.
“At this time, he’s training with us. We have to make a decision,” said Ancelotti when quizzed about Sanches’ future. “A move could be a possibility, but there is also a chance he could stay with us for the season.”
Meanwhile, reports also linked Arturo Vidal with several European clubs. However, the Bayern boss has ruled out any such rumours, and insisted that the Chilean will remain at the Allianz Arena.
“Vidal is our player, I have a lot of confidence,” said the Italian during a press conference ahead of his side’s friendly against Chelsea on Tuesday. “I know there are rumours and we’re used to rumours. He’ll stay with us 100 per cent – I’m confident about that.”
The Bundesliga giants have already secured the signing of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez on a 2-year loan. With the Colombian’s addition to the Bayern squad, Sanches’ future opportunities in Munich appear bleak. The German champions would probably signal a green light should they receive an apt offer for the 19-year-old.
