Barcelona are willing to let go of their midfielder, Andre Gomes, provided they receive an offer upwards of £50 million.

The Catalan club is understood to have reached a conclusion of listing the 24-year-old in the transfer market as available, as they seek to make some space in their midfield.

With quite the talent packed in the side, the club management and the manager are hoping that the sale of Gomes might make some space and allow all midfielders decent field time, as justified by their form and quality, according to Marca.

Their manager, Ernesto Valverde, had been hoping to cash in with the sale of the Turkish midfielder, Arda Turan. However, despite the player being 30 years old, he does not wish to move away from Camp Nou. Therefore, with Arda’s move unlikely, the manager has changed his focus on offloading the Portuguese International instead.

The talented playmaker had caught the eyes of both the giants of La LigaReal Madrid and Barcelona – last season, after a series of fantastic performances for Valencia. Both powerhouses launched serious bids for his services, with Real Madrid on the vanguard, expected to bring him to Bernabeu.

But, as it is understood, Barcelona snatched the player from Los Blancos with a last ditch €55 million bid in contrast to Real Madrid’s €50 million. Despite his obvious talents, however, the youngster failed to make a serious mark in the star-studded Catalan side.

Having failed to travel with his club on the tour, Gomes is expected to leave sooner rather than later. The club is willing to accept offers half of his release clause at €50 million. While a previous bid by a Premier League side was put down back in June, they might now have to re-contact the club to ask them to bid again.
