Top Transfer Rumours Of The Day: Hazard, Joselu, Vermaelen, And More

1. Eden Hazard To Stay At Chelsea

What’s the story?

As Barcelona seem desperate to replace Neymar with the likes of Eden Hazard from Chelsea, Antonio Conte has denied all possibilities of any deal whatsoever. The Belgian was extremely vital in the side’s Premier league winning 2016-17 season, and will be of more use with the return of the Champions League to Stamford Bridge this time around.

Should the deal take place?

The winger is without doubt one of the finest players at the London club at the moment, and is a fan favourite to say the least. However, a chance to move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe while they search for a player to become a Catalan superstar, might be too tempting for Hazard to refuse. The Belgian will be missing the Community Shield as he recovers from surgery, and will thus have more time to make a decision that could change his career forever.

Possibility of it happening

While addressing this situation, Conte said: “I think these are rumours and Eden is very happy to stay with us, to play with Chelsea and to recover from his injury and to start the season with us.” With such statements, one can say that the chances of him heading to the Nou Camp are no higher than 3/10.

2. Joselu To Newcastle United

What’s the story?

As Rafa Benitez prepares for life in the Premier League with Newcastle United, reports from The Stoke Sentinel mention that the boss faced rejection when he made a bid for Joselu this window. The player, who has been closely eyed by Rafa, has been in good form in the pre-season friendlies so far for the Potters.

Should the deal take place?

The Stoke City striker was deemed to be heading for the exit after spending last season out on loan in La Liga. However, with no major offers coming in yet, and the striker banging in 4 goals in his last two matches, Mark Hughes might be fascinated with the idea of keeping him at the club for the upcoming season.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of him heading to Newcastle United are currently 5/10.

3. Matteo Darmian To Barcelona/Bayern Munich

What’s the story?

As Antonio Valencia remains the primary right-back at Old Trafford, and Serge Aurier rumoured to be a target for Jose Mourinho, the future of Matteo Darmian does not paint a pretty picture. Given his uncertainty at the club, Calciomercato suggests that the Italian could be making a move to either Barcelona or Bayern Munich, with both clubs interested in his services.

Should the deal take place?

The player was preferred to play as a makeshift left-back at Man United last season, and that was clearly not the role he preferred. With Munich saying goodbye to Lahm and Barca never really recovering from Alves’s departure, both teams could do well with the quality of Darmian on the right side of their defence. First-team football might not be a luxury for the player at the Theatre of Dreams next season, and if teams of such stature come looking, making a move might be a wise decision to take.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of him heading to either the Bundesliga or the La Liga are currently 6/10.

4. Thomas Vermaelen To Anderlecht

What’s the story?

The out-of-favour Barcelona centre-back has been heavily linked with a move out of the Camp Nou this summer, and if Diario Sport is considered to be accurate and true, Anderlecht is the club leading the race to sign him. The Belgian is tipped to return to his home country and restart a career that has fallen away and how.

Should the deal take place?

West Brom are also a side that have an eye on the former Arsenal defender’s status, but are trailing behind in the race to sign him. The player has been a victim of constant injuries in the past three years, and coping with the intensity of the Premier League might be too much to ask for.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of him heading to Anderlecht seem brighter than any other option out there, with them being 9/10.
