Jose Mourinho has indicated that Manchester United now have no chance of signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.

Mourinho had claimed that he would ‘fight’ to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid before last night’s UEFA Super Cup clash, much to the excitement of the Manchester United fans. However, the Euphoria couldn’t last long. as Jose has now accepted that it’s ‘Game Over’ for the Red Devils’ pursuit of the Welshman.

Jose Mourinho admitted defeat in this short-lived transfer saga during the post-match press conference following his team’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.

The Portuguese coach said: “I think now everybody knows he is going to stay. Clearly the club want him, the manager wants him and he wants the club. So for me, game over, even before it started.”

Gareth Bale has been linked with a move to England, particularly to Manchester United, for a long time. However, it now seems that the much talked about transfer will take a back seat till next summer. Apparently, the Welsh international sees no point in leaving the Champions of Europe for any other club right now.

Mourinho’s words were resonated by Bale, when he was asked about a possible transfer away. He replied: “Not that I know of.”

The Real Madrid winger added: “I’m just concentrating on my football and I’m not listening to anything. I’m not reading anything, although people tell me bits and bobs. I’m enjoying my football and playing as much as I can and winning trophies.”
