Thought of going up against Manchester United may have reminded Sergio Ramos about his past transfer links, as the Real Madrid captain reveals interesting facts behind his links to the Manchester side.

Ramos talked about his past links to the Premier League giants back in 2015. The Spaniard was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford back then, and was widely expected to be unveiled as a Manchester United player.

However, the negotiations reportedly broke down unexpectedly leading to Ramos signing a new contract with the Galacticos.

Speaking about the links, the Spanish international recently revealed rather interesting facts.

The Los Blancos skipper admitted he had an offer on the table, confirming the speculations. Further, the Galactico proceeded to thank the Red Devils for the offer, and expressed his admiration for the club as well.

“I want to thank Manchester United for that offer in 2015 because I consider them a real club.”, said the Spanish defender.

Ramos is considered the best defender of the current age of football by a majority of football fans around the world, and even back then, it was no different. The arrival of the World Cup winner could’ve changed where Jose Mourinho’s side stand right now, but the fans were left disappointed.

Meanwhile, this has went on to anger a wide number of the Reds fans as they believe the former Sevilla man used the opportunity to renew his contract at the Spanish capital by teasing a move away from Madrid. However, much of that is mere speculation.

The 31-year-old is a huge fan favourite among the fans, and would definitely be glad that their side managed to keep him.
