According to SportItalia, Barcelona will make a move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic if they fail to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

Ever Since Neymar moved to PSG in a mammoth £198m deal, the Blaugrana have sped up negotiations for a new attacker, with Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho being their prime target.

Despite Barca’s continuous interest in the talented Brazilian, Liverpool have been reluctant to let Coutinho leave, and have reportedly turned down two bids in the span of one week.

Recent report claims that Coutinho was unhappy with the way Liverpool handled the negotiations, and he officially handed a transfer request on Friday. However, the club owners rejected the player’s request, and insisted that they would not consider any offers for the 25-year-old in the future.

With Liverpool remaining unmoved in their stance, Barcelona have decided to look for alternate options, and latest reports in Italy claim that the Catalan giants will pursue Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic if they fail to sign Philippe Coutinho.

The former Wolfsburg winger has been linked with Man Utd for many months, but Inter have constantly played hard ball with the negotiations, and have refused to move from their asking price of £50m.

With Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalleti claiming last month that the negotiations for the forward were closed, Barca’s sudden attraction to Perisic left everyone surprised.

Neymar’s departure has left Barca plenty of money in the bank, and therefore, matching Inter’s asking price of £50m won’t be a big deal for them. But on the other hand, it should be interesting to see how Inter Milan board react to these headline speculation in the coming days.
