Agent Of Arda Turan Trying To Secure Move Away From Barcelona
Barcelona’s key midfielder Arda Turan wishes to leave the Spanish giants, claims AS.
It seems that the 30-year-old midfielder has failed to impress new coach Ernesto Valverde, as he was left out of the Barcelona squad that succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Real Madrid during their first leg encounter in the Spanish Super Cup.
Turan joined the Catalan club from Atletico Madrid back in 2015. He had an impressive presence at the former club, and the move was then reckoned to be a big step forward for the player.
However, since his arrival, he has failed to maintain a consistent challenge to enter the first team despite displaying a few impressive performances.
Therefore, his agent Ahmet Bulut has now decided to take matters into his own hands, and has reportedly begun conversations with Galatasaray to bring the player back to Turkey.
The midfielder was able to make 18 appearances in the La Liga last season, during which he managed to score 3 goals. The player is known for his intelligent vision on the field, as well as precise ball control and dribbling skills.
Moreover, if Turan prove to be up for sale, he may have another club interested in prying him away from Spain. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been a long term admirer of the Barca star, and would be more than happy to have him reinforce his squad. Also, Bulut’s good relationship with Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes will work in United’s favour.
However, it would be interesting to see how exactly he would fit in a team that already has many talented names vying for a place in the starting lineup.
For now, it remains more likely that he shall move back to the Turkish giants, with whom he began his career in 2004. Galatasaray chairman Dursun Ozbek has made it clear that the club would love to have Turan rendering his services to them once again.
