Its common knowledge that Antoine Griezmann was very close to joining Manchester United this summer, but a transfer ban on Atletico Madrid meant that the proposed transfer was off the table.

Although the Red Devils could have triggered Griezmann’s release clause to get him, it was the player who decided to stay with his team during the difficult time.

However, the French superstar’s latest activity on twitter shows that he laments his decision of turning down Manchester United this summer.

The forward made comments that indicated (as per United fans, obviously) that he was angry for not joining Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Griezmann will now stay with Atletico for at least one more season, after signing an extension with the Spanish club. However, Manchester United might try to sign the coveted attacker next year, as they feel he could help them become even better.

The Mancunian giants are currently on fire in the Premier League, having won the first two matches of the campaign in emphatic fashion. Jose Mourinho’s men are yet to concede a goal, but have already scored 8 past the two oppositions so far.
