It seems that Barcelona’s transfer woes will see no end. Their earnest attempts to sign Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho look to be all but over, after a reported third bid for the Brazilian is believed to have been rejected by the English club.

Now, the Spanish giants will have to quickly set their transfer prowess at work elsewhere, in order to fill the gap created by the shock departure of Neymar Jr to PSG for a world record fee of €222 million.

Reports in France Football suggest that the Catalan outfit has set its sights on Chelsea’s Willian to complete their attack. The Chelsea winger is considered to be a top player in the position, having played a crucial part in the Blues’ Premier League triumph last season.

Despite the signing of Paulinho in midfield earlier this week, the club is severely lacking in securing the kind of talent that fits the profile of their other attacking options, primarily Messi and Suarez. Manager Ernesto Valverde will be eager to set a strong statement this season, and signing the Chelsea man will prove just that.

However, the London-based club has already thwarted attempts from Mourinho’s side to provide an exit for the 29-year old. It is clear that Antonio Conte and company will do all that they can to ensure that the Brazilian international stays at Stamford Bridge.

All in all, it will be hard for the player to refuse an offer to join the elite ranks at the Camp Nou and play against and alongside some of the best in the game. With the transfer window swiftly approaching the close, it will be interesting to see what tricks the Catalan giants will have up their decked trophy shelves.
