With young talents proving to be the creators of headlines as far as transfer news goes, it is not at all surprising to see how European giants are burning the midnight oil over the signing of certain teenage prodigies.

Manchester United, in particular, have always been an attractive destination for blooming talent. However, it now appears that the club’s most recent pursuit will be in vain.

Reports in Todomercadoweb (via The Sun)  claim that Kasper Dolberg, the 19-year-old Danish wonderkid who had emerged as an interest in the sights of Jose Mourinho, will not be headed to England.

The forward is all set to join Borussia Dortmund when the transfer window reopens in January.

After being named the Danish Talent of the Year last season, the sensational youngster gained much prominence and interest from Europe’s top clubs. This has been the characteristic of several emerging players from Ajax, and the club has had a history of developing talent before eventually cashing in on them.

Furthermore, ex-boss Peter Bosz heading the management at Dortmund might have also been an important factor in Dolberg snubbing the Red Devils for the Bundesliga side instead.

However, it remains to be seen which giant he shall be rendering his services to after the curtain has fallen on 2017 – the year of teenage footballing prowess.
