Manchester United are a team always linked with both young and experienced superstars from around the globe. The latest to be a part of that esteemed list is Leander Dendoncker. The youngster currently plays for Belgian side Anderlecht, and is deemed to be destined for a bigger club in the near future.

According to Sport/Foot (via Goal.com), the 22-year-old will be assisted by his side to become a better player and aim for a bigger League soon.

Anderlecht sporting director, Herman Van Holden, recently spoke about the player’s disappointment in not being transferred by stating: “Certain people in his entourage put pressure on me, on the club or on his agent, Christophe Henrotay. Today, we’re prepared to pay him based on his status of key player and to work on his future transfer like we did for Youri. In fact, we all have an interest in working together.”

The player was impressive in his side’s domestic title winning run last season, and his performances caught the eye of Manchester United and Everton. His form also saw Anderlecht reach the quarter-finals of last season’s Europa League.

However, failure to secure a move out of Belgium whilst on national duty seems to have dealt a blow to the player’s initial form seem this season. His head seems to be ‘somewhere else,’ as claimed by Holden.

The lad will have to rise up and deliver this campaign if a big move is part of his plans in the years to come, and maybe one day, his dreams might come true at the grandest theatre of them all.
