Lucas Lima’s agent has revealed that Manchester United are trying to sign the midfielder in the winter transfer window.

Lucas Lima is a highly rated midfielder who plays for Brazilian club Santos, the same club where Neymar developed his skills before joining Barcelona.

Lima has been contacted by a number of European clubs over the years, but no move has materialized yet. However, it now seems that the 27-year-old might finally make a switch in December, when his contract with Santos expires.

Lima’s agent, Luccas Badia, has been talking up the future prospects of his client. In fact, the agent has recently revealed that there are a number of clubs looking at the midfielder, with Manchester United being one of them.

Badia told Haberturk: “Inter, Roma and Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Lucas, Manchester United want him. I think we would be well suited to the Serie A, but we will see.”

The agent then highlighted that the player will be free to move after 31st December, when his contract with the Brazilian club comes to an end.

“His contract ends on 31 December and there are many clubs interested but I am not sure what Santos is trying to do. Crystal Palace made a €15 million offer while Fenerbahce made a €20 million bid, but for some reason neither has been accepted,” he added.

Lima is a player who can play in a number of positions in central midfield as well as out wide. Once his contract ends in December, it would be interesting to see which club the player ends up joining. Top European clubs remain interested in him, and most would love to sign the talented Brazilian for free.
