Arsenal’s ace playmaker, Mesut Ozil, is eyeing a reunion with former boss and current Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, despite any official talks between the two Premier League giants, as per reports.

There has been major speculation surrounding the German midfielder’s future with the Gunners in recent months, and with his current contract set to expire at the end of this season, Ozil may fancy a move to rivals Manchester United, in lure of a reunion with Mourinho on a free transfer.

However, Arsenal have offered the 28-year-old a new deal that would almost double his current £140,000 weekly wage to £250,000 a week, but Ozil is uncertain on signing the extension, as his career seems to be at a stand still at the Emirates.

According to Bleacher Report, even though there has been no direct contact made by the Old Trafford club for the German star, it is believed that a move to the Theatre of Dreams may very well be on the cards for the playmaker.

It was also claimed that Ozil feels he would shine under Mourinho due to the rising level of expectations at Old Trafford. The German is familiar with Mourinho’s work from their time together in Spain at Real Madrid, and the duo is reportedly still close, with the Portuguese having provided the foreword for Ozil’s autobiography.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be in the race to sign the Arsenal star. PSG, who are believed to be the more obvious choice for the Germany international, are reportedly preparing a contract that would pay Ozil £300,000-a-week.
