United Could Beat Arsenal In The Race To Sign Valencia Sensation
If reports in The Sun are to be believed, Manchester United are currently ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Valencia wonderkid Ferhat Cogalan.
There is no doubt that the Valencia academy has produced many talented players, including the likes of David Silva, Jordi Alba, Isco, and Paco Alcacer. This list of names also includes Cogalan, who has been on the radar of Arsenal, Man United, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund for the past three seasons.
However, as per the latest report from The Sun, the Red Devils are leading the race to sign the 15-year-old attacking midfielder, who has impressed one and all with his performances in several youth tournaments.
The English giants invited the young Turkish International to Manchester last year, as he travelled from Spain for talks at the club’s Carrington training complex with his agent and father.
After the meeting, Cogalan’s father, Sedat, told La Voix Du Nord: “We are in no hurry, as Ferhat is under contract until 2021. But when a club like Manchester United invites us, it is logical that we study their proposal.”
The report further adds that former Old Trafford star Phil Neville worked with the teenager during his coaching spell at Valencia, and recommended the playmaker to Jose Mourinho. Now, considering that Cogalan has been captivating interest from a host of clubs, Ed Woodward needs to react quickly if he is to sign the starlet.
