Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, has told his agent Jorge Mendes to start searching for a new destination, as per reports.

Gomes has grown frustrated over his lack of game time at Camp Nou, as Barca boss, Ernesto Valverde, doesn’t see the 24-year-old worthy enough to be promoted over the likes of Andres Iniesta, Paulinho, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto, and Ivan Rakitic in the middle of the park.

As a result, the Portuguese has ordered his agent to start looking for a new club.

According to reports from Don Balon, Gomes wants to play consistent first-team football in order to contest for a spot in the Portuguese national side for next year’s World Cup in Russia – the chances of which currently seem bleak, as the midfielder lies very low in the pecking order for his club.

The Portuguese star, while speaking to A Bola, also admitted that it is not an easy task to play for the La Liga giants, leave alone cement a position in the line-up.

“Playing at Barcelona is not for everyone. In the past I had moments which were really tough for me to go through,” the player was quoted as saying.

With the orders issued to his agent, it would be safe to say that the former Valencia man, who joined Barca back in the 2016-17 season, and has made just 2 appearances in 6 league games this season, wouldn’t stay with the Catalan outfit for very long.
