Conte Forced To Act As Arsenal Show Interest In Chelsea Attacker
Chelsea are seeking to get Charly Musonda to sign a new contract, so as to fend off interest from Arsenal and United, reports the Evening Standard.
Charly Musonda is latest Chelsea prospect making the buzz in the football world. The talented Belgian has finally found his feet at the Stamford Bridge after spending two seasons at Betis on loan.
Conte is said to be a big admirer of the 20-year-old attacker, and the Italian coach sees a future superstar in the player.
The evident growth shown by Musonda has attracted Premier League giants like Arsenal and United to consider signing the player. In their bid to stop their rivals from snatching their youngster, the Blues are trying to convince Musonda to sign a new contract at the club to extend his stay.
Chelsea had previously postponed the talks of a contract renewal with Musonda at the end of last season.
However, in the light of recent developments, the London-based outfit has been forced to address the situation at the earliest, especially with the player having just a little more than a year left on his current contract with the club.
Furthermore, the Belgian’s performance in the Carabao Cup has given Chelsea enough reasons to offer him a new contract. In fact, reports claim that Conte has been so impressed with Musonda, that the Italian has assured the youngster a regular place in his side if he keeps performing well.
