Giggs Pinned Ronaldo Up Against The Wall For A Very Absurd Reason

Illustrious players have always graced the pitch of Old Trafford, dazzling the crowds with their supreme quality of play. Often, their fascinating antics on the pitch are accompanied by equally entertaining, if not more, off the pitch ones.

Sometimes, however, these are fueled by seemingly strange and absurd reasons. It has now been revealed that such a case might have occurred between two of the biggest names to have played for Manchester United: Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both wingers were paramount to the club’s success during the years that they shared a dressing room. The Welshman, however, certainly was something of a mentor figure, especially to younger players like Ronaldo.

Irrespective of whether or not the starlet in question outperformed him, Giggs always made it a point to get his word across. Apparently, one such incident involved the now four-time Ballon d’Or winner being pinned against a wall by Giggs, and that too for quite an insane reason.

As per striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, whose fellow Norwegian colleague is none other than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the anecdote was hilarious. Ronaldo had apparently waltzed into breakfast one morning with a coke in hand. This didn’t seem to sit well with Giggs, who was quick to pin him to the wall and command him not to do so ever again.

The anecdote is certainly a fun insight into the lives the players lived behind the scenes, and is also quite an indication of how seriously some players took the question of health and diet.

One is certainly left to wonder if Ronaldo, who has since reigned royally over the scoresheets across Europe, would dare to indulge in a sugary soft drink now that his swift teammate is not in sight.
