European champions Real Madrid continue to be linked with a goalkeeper, and it is being speculated that a big name will join the club next summer.

Real, the reigning La Liga champions, have got off to a mixed start this season. Zinedine Zidane’s men moved to 2nd in the table after a much needed win against Getafe, but reports state that the club has been advised to sign a major name in goal if they want to build on their chance of success.

According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, club talisman Cristiano Ronaldo reckons the club must get a new goalkeeper if they are to improve and fight Barcelona. The Portuguese isn’t convinced with current keepers Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla, and feels the duo is not good enough to succeed at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been told by Ronaldo to sign either David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois in order to build upon from there on. Both De Gea and Courtois are considered to be the world’s best keepers, so it’s of no wonder why Ronaldo wants either of the two at the club.

De Gea was close to joining Real back in 2015, but the deal broke down. The Spaniard has been a rock for United in goal, and it is expected that he will be offered a bumper new deal this year to fend off Los Blancos.

On the other hand, Courtois too, has been phenomenal for Chelsea, and Real are eyeing the Belgian if they miss out on De Gea. With both players being pivotal for their respective clubs, it will be a battle to lure the sides to sell.

Keylor Navas has been crucial for Zinedine Zidane’s side, and has shown consistently that he belongs at a top club. But the Galacticos still wish to sign a world class name, and come summer, they will look to honour Ronaldo’s wishes.
