Jesse Lingard’s celebration after netting his first goal against Swansea City has proved to be controversial on social media. The incident materialised as he gave Manchester United the lead in their Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Despite starting the match and displaying decent performance, the player has been criticized barbarously. The winger cleverly converted Marcus Rashford’s through ball after 21 minutes of play. However, the celebration following the goal has had an impact on the supporters negatively, and has summoned serious reactions on Twitter.

The Englishman was known for dabs prior to this flute celebration. He displaced to this weird celebration earlier this year while exposing his pleasure over scoring a goal past Victor Valdes in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory at Middlesbrough. He had then divulged that it was a reference to a new track by Canadian songwriter Drake called Portland, that apparently includes a ‘minimalist Andes flute’ sample.

Nevertheless, the United supporters don’t seem to be appreciating the celebration, and are finding it dreadful.

To a few, it was adequate for Lingard to be fined by the club.

To some, it felt more relevant to wish a career-threatening injury on the player.

Or a move to Sunderland.

Notwithstanding the controversial scenario he already put up, the 24-year-old scored his second for the Red Devils against Swans on Tuesday night. Despite these unfortunate incidents, the winger never fails to showcase his talents on the pitch, most of the time by scoring screamers.
