WATCH: Ronaldo Left A Female Reporter Feeling Awkward At The FIFA Awards
Cristiano Ronaldo dominated the day’s headlines after yet again bagging the prestigious FIFA ‘The Best’ Award on Monday. He beat Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr to the prize, and went on to quip about his rivalry with Barcelona’s no.10.
However, apart from him dominating the highlight of the event, Ronaldo was a wanted man even before. His fame was on show during the Green Carpet event, where the Portuguese star happened to cause quite an awkward moment.
The event was being live-streamed on FIFA’s YouTube channel, and two reporters were eagerly waiting to catch a word with Ronaldo. Moments before the encounter occurred, the female journalist also remarked over how they had missed the opportunity to chat with Messi and Zidane as well.
However, the quick word they wanted never came, despite calling out to the Real Madrid man several times, who simply walked in. She even let out a defeated “oh no” after the failure. Meanwhile, her male counterpart seemed to be having a fun time on his own, and even said to her: “Keep following him. Go get him.”

The poor reporter was clearly in an awkward spot, and hit back at him by saying, “I’m trying Alex. You’re not doing anything, you’re just stood there!”
Following the disappointment, the duo quickly cut to the feed of another journalist, who for her part, had managed to ensure that Dani Alves would be available for a quick chat.
Such moments are no new thing at such events, where one almost forgets that these players are more used to performing on the pitch and signing occasional autographs, and don’t exactly do as intended at such gala events. Regardless, the reporter showed class and was able to play down the disappointment quite well, leaving us with a light-hearted clip to enjoy.
