Reports: Real Madrid Midfielder Could Leave In January

Manchester United are keen to add another world class midfielder to their ranks, and have identified Real Madrid talisman Casemiro as a potential target.

As per the report in Spanish outlet Diario Gol, United manager Jose Mourinho is interested in getting the Brazilian once the winter transfer window reopens in January.

The Portuguese manager is desperate to add more options to his midfield, as he is set to mount a proper title challenge during the crucial second phase of the ongoing season. Casemiro joins the list of midfielders in target for the reigning Europa League champions.

Earlier in the summer, the former Chelsea boss roped in one of the best Premier League midfielders in the form of Nemanja Matic, and he has been consistently playing a crucial role since his arrival.

The Serbian stalwart helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles besides the League Cup, and is a favourite of Mourinho. Matic has already become a pivotal part of United, and has linked up well with the team to showcase his fluidity.

With veteran Michael Carrick in his final year at the club, Jose is keen to bring in someone with panache. Casemiro has been identified as the best possible candidate in order to bring more stability. The player has gone on to earn a reputation as one of the world’s best in recent years at Real, and has been key alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Although it is highly unlikely that the talented midfielder will be allowed to leave the Bernabeu, as Los Blancos value him very highly. Reports state that the two-time Champions League winner could be in line to sign a new deal at the club alongside several other top players. Real have formed a great team under Zinedine Zidane, and the Frenchman is understood to be adding more laurels to the world’s best club.
