Manchester United Preparing Massive £50m Deal For Celtic’s Star Duo
Premier League elite Manchester United are reportedly plotting a double transfer deal to secure the signatures of Celtic stars Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele.
The Red Devils have been keeping tabs on both the players, and were also linked to Dembele last January, when Chelsea were favourites to land the 21-year-old. Though the Blues did not find the Frenchman worthy of a £40 million price tag, which Celtic had put on him at the time, and hence ended their pursuit.
However, United are said to be willing to shell off that kind of money in order to sign Dembele, and along with that, are also reportedly interested in bringing his teammate Kieran Tierney, who has now become United’s top choice to replace Luke Shaw at left-back, to Old Trafford.
According to Mirror, the Red Devils are preparing a gigantic £50 million double swoop for the pair from Celtic, despite the Scottish Champions being adamant of keeping both their players at Celtic Park.
It was also reported that the Premier League giants weren’t the only side interested in the duo, and face an extremely stiff competition from 16 other clubs.
Furthermore, luring Tierney, who signed a new six-year contract with Celtic on Monday, to England would be difficult as the 20-year-old has given absolutely no indication of leaving the club while discussing his new deal.
Tierney said, “I got a long-term deal last year when the manager came in and to have another so soon is brilliant. I still can’t believe it. It’s brilliant to have him [manager Brendan Rodgers] believe in me, he has trusted me since day one.
“I was very young when he came in, I had only played one season in the first team so there was always a doubt that he might bring someone more experienced in, but he has trusted me and I have a lot to thank him for.”
The Red Devils’ scouts were present in Glasgow last night to see the duo perform exceedingly well, inspite of their team failing to register a win against Bayern Munich.
