Paul Pogba Convinced Blaise Matuidi To Join Juventus
In the previous summer transfer window, Blaise Matuidi moved pastures from Paris Saint-Germain to Italian club Juventus to mark an important move.
And now, the experienced campaigner has revealed that his decision to join the Old Lady of Turin was influenced by two of his French teammates.
The versatile midfielder was being monitored by several top clubs in Europe, but after enjoying a lot of success at PSG over the last couple of seasons domestically, it was time for Matuidi to move on.

Juventus have been Italy’s most successful club, and are on a roll with six consecutive Serie A titles. Besides the success in domestic front, the Italian giants also reached the final of the Champions League twice in the last three years, therefore making the midfielder’s choice to join them a fairly obvious one.

In a recent interview with Le Figaro, Matuidi went on to admit that current Manchester United talisman Paul Pogba, as well as Patrice Evra, who played for the Red Devils for a long time, advised him to move to Juve.
“When I arrived they told me about the French players that used to play here: Platini, Zidane, Trezeguet, Deschamps and Henry. Before joining the club I talked to Evra and Pogba, they advised me to come here,” said the 30-year-old.
Pogba moved back to United for a then world record fee in the summer of 2016, after spending four glorious years at Juventus. Pogba’s success as a player, and the recognition he achieved was very much due to the Serie A club. Patrice Evra too, played for Juve after leaving Old Trafford in 2014. The duo’s experience in Turin went on to be beneficial for Matuidi’s arrival at the historic club.
Matuidi went on to add that he did not expect to settle down so quickly at Juve, and he feels great to have joined the side. “Each one knows what to do here, there is no space for who is not 100% committed to this club. I didn’t expect to settle in well so quickly but that’s exactly what happened. Everyone is helping me to adapt and I feel great,” he said.
