Manchester United are interested in signing Benfica’s teenage forward Umaro Embalo, according to the player’s agent.

Embalo has garnered a lot of attention from several European clubs, with Real Madrid too, interested in pursuing the 16-year-old. Earlier in the week, reports claimed that the Mancunian giants had agreed a £5million deal to secure the services of the forward, but the Portuguese club has gone on to dismiss those claims.

However, Embalo’s agent has admitted that he has indeed held conversations with the Old Trafford club.

He told A Bola: “If he’s going to Manchester is something that I don’t know at all, but it’s true that we have already met with Benfica and Manchester, there is no agreement, but there are conversations.”

The agent also added that nothing is yet finalized, and no proper communications have taken place, despite interest from several clubs.

“Nothing is done, and the conversation, nobody communicated anything to me, nor to the parents. He has interest from several clubs, because he is an asset of Benfica and has gone down this route well,” the representative further stated.

The Guinean player has shown a lot of promise as a winger, and if he does join United, he could be imminently added to the Red Devils’ reserve team, and they will hope to take it from there. Many outlets have likened Embalo with former Real and United player Angel Di Maria.

The wonderkid has clubs vying for him, with several teams monitoring his situation, as confirmed by his agent, who revealed: “I can say that all the great clubs in Europe have already asked for information about Umaro, from Germany, England, Spain, France.”
