Arsenal have braced themselves for the seemingly imminent departure of Alexis Sanchez, and have found potential in Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha as his replacement.

The Chilean’s antics at the Emirates have been no secret; from stalling a contract extension for almost a year to trying to force a move to Manchester City this summer. Sanchez is set to run down his contract at the end of this season, and has not shown even the slightest signs of wanting to extend his stay.

Needless to say, it would be considered wise to start a scout for a suitable replacement, and seems like the Gunners have already found their candidate in Zaha.

According to The Sun, the Londoners are prepared to launch a £35 million offer for the Ivory Coast international. The former England U21 star has proved to a vital cog in Palace’s ranks, with the club registering Premier League points only after his return from injury this season.

Despite missing two months worth of football, the Ivorian has managed to secure his side’s only Premier League points through his two goals against Chelsea and West Ham. That makes it 2 goals in just 5 league appearances for the talented winger.

It goes without saying that the Eagles will be in no hurry of cashing in on their best player, but are prepared for incoming offers nonetheless. Moreover, with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur reportedly eyeing the former Red Devil, securing this transfer could prove very difficult for Arsene Wenger.

Nevertheless, though the 25-year-old hasn’t shown any signs or desire to leave Selhurst Park, a move up north might end up being an upgrade, especially with Sanchez’s situation looking rather hopeless.
