Manchester United have been one of the serious contenders for the Premier League title so far this season, with just rivals Manchester City above them in the table at present. However, they have fallen off track lately due to some disappointing outings.

Many have accused United No.9 Romelu Lukaku, who has been unable to score in his last seven club appearances, as the primary reason behind the 8-point gap created between the two inter-city arch-rivals at the top of the table.

The 24-year-old had a dream start to his campaign at Old Trafford, as he had immediately begun proving the worth of the £75 million that Jose Mourinho invested in him in the summer, by scoring 11 goals in just 10 matches.

However, his recent performances have been fruitless in front of goal, with the forward also firing a blank against Chelsea last Sunday.

The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Blues at Stamford Bridge, and according to The Sunthe Belgian was angered by the lack of service he was provided from the midfield during the game.

In fact, a dressing room source even confirmed that the striker went vocal on his teammates, and expressed his frustration at his personal as well as the team’s efforts against the reigning Champions of England.

However, Lukaku did manage to end his goal-scoring drought on Friday, as he helped his country with a brace in Belgium’s 3-3 draw with Mexico. The ex-Everton star would now be hoping to continue this form for the Old Trafford outfit, when they host Newcastle on Saturday.
