Confirmed: Manchester United Want To Sign Argentina Star
Despite their problems lying primarily at the front, Manchester United have begun addressing their defensive flaws too. A shaky back has often proven to be sloppy this season, and if not for David De Gea’s brilliance in front of goal, the Red Devils would have been seriously struggling.
The main position of interest is that of left-back, where Jose Mourinho has been doing much experimentation. Already, the likes of Darmian, Blind and Shaw have been deployed there, but Young currently enjoys dominance at the spot.
However, United have already begun looking for an apt player to fulfill those duties, and they may have found one, in the form of Argentine full-back Enzo Diaz, reports Mail Online.
Diaz recently told Ataque Futbolero: “I found out about it on Saturday morning, but later I did not talk to anyone other than my agent. My agent told me that they were delighted and they were going to see me a couple more games. It is the dream of any footballer to play for Manchester United.”
Mourinho will be eager to fulfill the ‘dream,’ as it would provide the club with a ready solution for their woes owing to Young’s age and Shaw’s lack of form.
At 22, the Agropecuario defender seems like a suitable option, and could easily be persuaded to make the switch to the Premier League giants. The jump will be a grand one, as his current team plays in the Second Division despite sitting atop their table. He has notched a mere seven appearances so far.
The young starlet did show some caution, though, by adding: “However, I need to remain focused on what we are doing and enjoying this moment.”
There are several defenders that Mourinho is reportedly interested in, and it seems apparent that a winter signing will be arriving at Old Trafford.
