Jose Mourinho looked certain of leaving Old Trafford, after talks of French giants Paris Saint-Germain’s desperate interest in the Portuguese caught the headlines last month.

Speculation of him leaving for Paris became even stronger when he publicly praised PSG last month, and also showed certain disconcerts with his team after defeats against Huddersfield and Chelsea, whilst also receiving criticism for his tactics and style of play.

However, as per The Guardian, recent talks between the 54-year-old and the club have eliminated any concerns over his departure, and the Red Devils appear set to retain the services of the mastermind at least for few more years.

Reports claim that Mourinho has never before been so hungry to win the Premier League title as he is with United, and thus, he shall try his utmost best to claim the club’s first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in May 2013.

Mourinho is responsible for bringing United back into title contention after winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first season in charge of the Mancunian club, despite taking over the managerial role following a mediocre previous campaign.

United have heavily backed Mourinho since his arrival at Old Trafford, with the club spending over £300 million to back up his requirements in the transfer market.

The Reds currently sit second in the Premier League table, with eight points separating them from leaders Manchester City, who have seemed unstoppable so far this season.

However, United remain happy with the fact that the Portuguese is ‘focused and determined’ for the upcoming games, the most recent bring tomorrow’s league match against a formidable Newcastle.
