Sky Sports Journalist Claims Atletico Madrid Are Preparing To Sell Antoine Griezmann
Antoine Griezmann looks set to leave Atletico Madrid next summer after being targeted by top clubs from around the world.
As many as four top clubs seem very much interested in the forward – Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, and lastly, Man Utd from the Premier League.
Last summer, as per reports, Griezmann was close to leaving for Old Trafford, but eventually decided to stay after Los Rojiblancos were hit with the transfer ban.
However, according to Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague, Atletico Madrid are preparing to compensate the void in the team that will be created by the Frenchman’s departure next summer.
The 26-year-old is not having his best of time at the Wanda Metropolitano, with lack of goals hampering his stay at the club. The home fans even booed him in the previous match against Real Madrid, after he failed to make any positive impact on the game.
Coach Diego Simeone too, hinted at his departure in the summer during the post-match press conference, after the Madrid Derby ended in a stalemate.
To add to the speculation, Balague, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, expressed his belief that United and Barcelona would go head-to-head to pay the highest amount of cash, so as to secure the services of the Frenchman.
While it can only be speculated which club will come up with the best offer, it is assured that Griezmann leaving Atletico Madrid will be one of the biggest transfer sagas of all time.
