Juventus Interested In Signing Matteo Darmian

Matteo Darmian has become a surprisingly popular name in the Italian transfer market, with Juventus, AS Roma, and Napoli interested in his services.

Since arriving at Old Trafford back in 2015, the Italian failed to establish a stable role in the United squad. And since Jose Mourinho took over the helm, Darmian has unfortunately fallen further down the pecking order.

So far this season, the former Torino man has played less than 400 minutes of first-team football, and he also became the subject of harsh criticism following his poor outing during his side’s loss against Basel in the Champions League this week.

However, despite being out of favour in Manchester, the Italy international has no shortage of interest from elite clubs. According to Calciomercato, the full-back is likely on his way back to his homeland, amid strong interest from Roma, Juve, and Napoli.

With Stephan Lichtsteiner looking set to run down his contract by the end of the season, the Old Lady are hoping the United man could prove to be a possible replacement.

On the other hand, the current Serie A leaders, Napoli, are left without the crucial Faouzi Ghoulam due to his injury, and are therefore, on the lookout for his replacement.

With the ability to play as a wing-back on either flanks, as well as a central defender, the 27-year-old’s versatility seems to be the likely reason that has attracted the immense interest.
