United Told To Sign Argentine Winger
Eric Cantona has put forward his own suggestion as to whom United should attempt to go for in the upcoming transfer windows.
The legendary striker was speaking to United YouTube fan channel FullTimeDEVILS when he was asked who he would like to see pull on the famous jersey, and he went for a rather surprising choice in Javier Pastore.
The Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, but Cantona’s comments may give fans some hope that he could convince Jose Mourinho to sign him.
Having been at the French club for six years now, Pastore is starting to fall down the pecking order, with superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Julian Draxler restricting his game time.
The 28-year-old has made only 4 starts so far this season, and Cantona admitted that the Argentine would be a signing he would love United to make.
“I love Pastore,” said Cantona. “He plays for Paris but he doesn’t play in the team. They have two great players – Pastore and Ben Arfa and neither of them play.”
Cantona was also asked about fellow countryman Antoine Griezmann, who has been linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams for quite a while now. However, the 51-year-old seemed more interested in talking about Pastore instead, and also took the chance to launch a sly dig at PSG.
When asked about Griezmann, he said: “Yes, why not? But Pastore is very special. Pastore will surprise you every time. Every time he touches the ball he surprises you – he gives the ball to someone no-one had seen before. He surprises all the fans.
“I think he [Pastore] is a great player. He played for Argentina, which is a great country – but he doesn’t play for Paris, which is a small club.”
